Robert ColosiaRobert Colosia is a rarity in the practice of law: a genuine sports lawyer. In addition to prosecuting and defending a number of high profile sports industry lawsuits, Mr. Colosia has negotiated hundreds of sports deals and represented athletes in various sports the world over.

Mr. Colosia has been a practicing sports law since founding Group C Sports law in June 1994. His network of leading agents, coaches, clubs, scouts and players is unsurpassed. Mr. Colosia has the rare combination of detailed knowledge of FIFA contract rules, coupled with California and United States Federal law, as well as practical experience and the marketing creativity to develop the best and most lucrative contracts available under even the most extreme conditions. This is particularly important when, for example dealing with complicated league rules and salary cap considerations such as those in Major League Soccer.

Mr. Colosia’s current specialty is domestic and international soccer. He currently represents international players in their dealings with MLS and domestic players in their dealings abroad. Mr. Colosia specializes in senior and junior internationally capped players.

Mr. Colosia received his B.S. in Business Administration (Marketing) in 1990 from San Diego State University. He earned his J.D. in 1993 from San Diego’s Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Mr. Colosia studied abroad at Trinity College, Cambridge University in England in 1992. Mr. Colosia is a Pro Tem Law Professor in Sports Law at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Mr. Colosia was recently a guest speaker on Sports and Immigration Law at the Association of American Law School’s annual conference.
